About Us

theTEN Atelier is a New York based design and development studio working across bespoke garments and fashion production.

The studio exists between design and making, where ideas are translated into garments through pattern, construction, and close technical development.

Meet the Founder

Angelique Julien is a fashion designer and pattern maker with nearly two decades of experience across custom ateliers and luxury fashion development.

After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology, she trained in made to measure and bridal construction at Selia Yang Bridal, and developed advanced pattern making expertise working in the atelier of Nicolas Caito, known for his work with Parisian luxury houses.

She later founded theTEN as a clothing label focused on production ethics and environmental responsibility. The atelier emerged organically when designers began bringing their collections for development support.

Her practice remains focused on how garments are built, refined, and brought to life through process and precision.

Our studio

The studio operates from Chelsea in New York, bringing together designers, pattern makers, and sample makers working across both traditional and digital methods.

Hand draping and pattern construction sit alongside digital development tools and fit technology, allowing ideas to move between physical and technical execution without separation.

Much of the work is carried through long-standing relationships with local makers and production partners across the Garment District, supporting development and manufacturing in real time as projects evolve.

The studio works across two connected areas of practice.

One focuses on the development and production of garments for fashion brands, from early concept through sampling and manufacturing.

The other is a bespoke practice, creating one-of-a-kind garments for private clients, red carpet, and special commissions.

Both are treated with the same level of construction, refinement, and material attention, shaped by the same team and process.

Our Philosophy

With awareness of the industry's human rights and environmental impact issues, theTEN Atelier’s core values are embodied in our commitment to innovation of conscious and ethical solutions for our clients.

Local Partnerships

Rooted in New York’s Garment District, theTEN Atelier operates from within one of the world’s most established fashion ecosystems, surrounded by long-standing fabric suppliers, pattern makers, and specialist production resources.

This proximity supports the studio’s in-house development process, offering access to specialized materials and expertise when specific project needs arise, while all design development, sampling, and construction are led and executed within the atelier.

Sustainability

theTEN Atelier sources materials from small fabric and trim mills, prioritizing the use of natural materials when possible. We partner with FabScrap to recycle the material waste from the development process in our atelier, and always keep conservation in mind with our work.

theTEN Atelier continues to evolve through collaboration with designers, brands, and private clients who value detail, construction, and intent in the work.
